Families & Friends

Communication is Key

Working closely with the families of our clients is an important part of what we do. Our primary job, of course, is caring for your loved one. A close second, however, is communicating with you.

We have all probably been in the position of feeling uninformed and “left out of the loop” when we’ve interacted with medical personnel or health care agencies. It can leave you feeling helpless and lost. That is not what Here to There is about.

During our complimentary initial consultation, we will establish a communication process that’s comfortable for everyone. It’s important that you are aware of and are comfortable with the activities, the progress, and the way your loved one is feeling and behaving. A large part of our consultation will include talking about your loved one’s safety, favorite activities, energy levels, physical and mental capabilities, favorite foods, friends, social activities, and anything else you feel we need to know to provide them with their best quality of life.

A talented and compassionate caregiver will then tailor a plan specifically for them. If you’d like to see an outline of their plan, no problem. If you’d like to make suggestions that you feel would better suit your loved one, please do. It’s all transparent. We can provide weekly reviews, weekly previews, monthly summaries, or short daily summaries if you wish.

It’s very important to us that you feel comfortable. Nothing would make us happier than feeling like “one of the family.” We’re in it with you, because we care. No one deserves to age with anything but joy and grace and dignity.

Our staff is the real deal. Our hiring process is stringent and not many applicants make it through. They are then thoroughly trained in a number of areas including the different stages of dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s, nutrition and nutritional cooking, moving and transporting clients with limited physical capabilities, general daily personal activities, and 5-star service training. There’s no need to train them to be compassionate and empathetic. We hired them, which means that’s already who they are as human beings.

Some Nuts & Bolts:

  • We work in 4-hour minimum blocks.
  • Free commute within 30 miles of Glenwood Springs – small charge outside of that.
  • Free outings (our car) within 30 miles of home – small charge outside of that.
  • We never divulge or discuss your loved one’s conditions or private matters with anyone outside of our agency.
  • Meal planning – we can create a meal plan or adhere to one they like. We primarily use “Plant Paradox” as a model for our nutritional objectives.
  • We accept most forms of payment and you can take care of the bill right on our website.

Heather is one of the kindest, smartest and most reliable persons we have ever met. She thinks and acts beyond what has been required of her. Heather performs professionally at all times, even under emergency circumstances. She is a wonderful person and we highly recommend her post operative services to anyone.

Heather and her team have been great to work with. They have taken the time to learn the specific needs and wishes of my elderly mother and our family, and they keep in close communication with us. Heather has been very flexible in responding to our suggestions and is creative in thinking up outings my mother enjoys. Above all, she and her employees unfailingly treat my mother with respect and dignity.

I was introduced to Heather, owner of Here to There Home Health Care, when a patient informed me that much of the credit for her impressive home recovery stemmed from her services. Postoperative home care allows patients to focus on their recovery and keeps them on track throughout a difficult process. I recommend Here to There to anyone in need of postoperative home care.
