Postoperative Care

TAILORED PACKAGES

Postoperative Care

Surgery has a major impact on your life, especially in the short-term. Sometimes it’s physically impossible to perform the simple daily tasks you’ve always done without a thought; or, you get exhausted simply attempting to maintain your household and rehabilitate your injury at the same time.

Postoperative Home Care

Postoperative CareCAREGIVERS MAKE IT BETTER

Having a certified nursing assistant and/or licensed caregiver by your side lets you continue to get things done, expedite your rehabilitation and give you comfort knowing you are in compassionate and professional hands.

HOSPITAL DISCHARGE

Our caregivers can prepare your home for your arrival after surgery so everything is in place and ready for your recovery. We can arrange for your caregiver to be at the hospital directly after your surgical procedure to talk to hospital staff about medications you need to take, recommended exercises for your rehabilitation and any other postoperative suggestions from your doctor. We can collect your belongings, assist you to your car and help you to your home.

THE FIRST 36 HOURS

Generally, the first 36 hours are the most challenging for surgeries. During our initial consultation, we will extensively discuss how those first three days will look. If around-the-clock monitoring is necessary, one of our personal care assistants will stay in your home with you overnight and awaken at scheduled intervals to ice your injury, change your sleeping position, assist you to the bathroom and perform any other necessary tasks.

YOUR CAREGIVER WILL HELP

  • monitor your medications to make sure you’re taking them correctly
  • plan, prepare and serve your meals
  • administer the routine workings of your household
  • schedule your appointments and assist you in attending them
  • assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
  • assist with light housekeeping
  • assist with general errands like grocery shopping
  • maintain your social interactions and activities

TAILORED RECOVERY PLANS

Your Caregiver Will HelpWhatever your postoperative needs, our compassionate and professional staff excels at creating specific caregiving strategies for every individual. We can tailor a recovery plan that will maintain your quality of life to the highest possible degree. We are here to not only help you physically recover, but to make sure your mental, emotional and spiritual needs are being met as well.

MASSAGE, MEALS, NATUROPATH

In addition to our talented staff, we work closely with an amazing massage therapist and a renowned naturopathic doctor in the Roaring Fork valley. We love to create meal plans rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory foods for our clients in recovery. Each member of our staff has been trained in nutritional cooking and can create a menu and prepare your food in a way that will decrease your rehabilitation time.

YOUR COMFORT & SECURITY

Your comfort and security are the most important things to us. The first few days after surgery can feel like a very vulnerable time. It’s a comfort to know you’re not going to fall behind on chores, bills, appointments, social obligations and everything else that makes up your life.

Let us help you make the transition from here to there as quickly and comfortably as possible.

  • Ann Harvey
Heather and her team have been great to work with. They have taken the time to learn the specific needs and wishes of my elderly mother and our family, and they keep in close communication with us. Heather has been very flexible in responding to our suggestions and is creative in thinking up outings my mother enjoys. Above all, she and her employees unfailingly treat my mother with respect and dignity.

I was introduced to Heather, owner of Here to There Home Health Care, when a patient informed me that much of the credit for her impressive home recovery stemmed from her services. Postoperative home care allows patients to focus on their recovery and keeps them on track throughout a difficult process. I recommend Here to There to anyone in need of postoperative home care.
